More pet services
Grooming is a directory you can search. Shops, sitters, trainers, insurers and aftercare businesses are not, because we will not publish a listing we have not checked. The guides below say what to ask, and they link to the vets and licensed boarders we already list.
Pet groomers
A searchable directory of grooming salons mapped from OpenStreetMap. Call ahead to confirm a booking.
Pet shops
How to buy food, a crate or an animal without relying on an unverified shop list.
Pet sitters
When a person in your home is a better plan than a kennel, and what to ask them.
Dog trainers
Puppy classes, private behaviour work, and when AVS expects an accredited trainer.
Pet transport
Clinic runs and airport trips, and why a pet taxi is not the same as an import licence.
Pet insurance
What medical plans usually pay, the exclusions to read, and what a policy cannot do in an emergency.
Cremation and aftercare
Individual and communal cremation, and the questions to ask your clinic before you choose.
Cat boarding and cat sitting
Licensed boarders do not all take cats. What to ask, and when a home visit is kinder.
